VOLUNTEERS

Enjoyed a bus trip to area museums, including Haeger Pottery Museum, lunch at Bishops in Spring Hill Mall, a visit to Elgin's Natural History Museum, ending our trip at West Chicago's, delightful Railroad Town Museum.

Thank you, Carla Hill and Park District for a fine treat. Think about becoming a Museum Volunteer. The rewards are greater than the sacrifice of spending two hours every month or two.

Dear Members:

I have been very busy with several different projects. I am continuing with the plans for the downstairs permanent exhibits. Eight Illinois agencies, including the Illinois State Library, are sponsoring an Illinois Newspaper Project. They are asking anyone who wants to participate to submit listings of their newspaper holdings. The museum will be sending a total listing of our holdings.

The Museum will close on December 11 and will re-open on March 2. During the time we are closed I will be working on upstairs re-organization and several other projects.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers for the time that they donated to the museum this year and a special thanks to Sadie and May Lundberg and my “Wednesday Ladies.” Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years to you all!

Sincerely,

Carla
