Batavia Public Library

Annual Tournament of Books

March 4-27, 2019

New fiction has home court advantage during the Batavia Public Library Tournament of Books!

Sixteen of 2018’s best fiction books, chosen by Batavia readers and librarians, will contend for the top spot in playoff-style brackets. Each weekday, beginning March 4, we’ll post a match between two fiction titles published in 2018. The winner, determined by your votes, will move on. After the semi-final round, two eliminated titles will return to challenge the semi-finalists in the Zombie Round. At the end of the month, one title will emerge victorious.

The best part of the tournament—you can vote for your favorites, on Facebook or in person at the Library! Each vote (one per person, per day) is an entry in a drawing for book prizes at the end of the tournament.  We’ll post daily results on a tournament board in the Library and on the Library’s Facebook page.

You can pick up an annotated list of the Sweet Sixteen and a tournament bracket in the Library or check out the scrolling shelf below.
